Irregular holes are chewed in carpets, blankets, clothing, and other articles made of animal fur, hair, feathers, or hides. Light brown to black grubs up to 1/4 inch long may be seen crawling on both damaged and undamaged items. The grubs are distinctly segmented and covered with circular rows of stiff, dark hairs.
Shake out, brush, and air out infested clothes and blankets. To kill remaining grubs, dry-clean infested items.
