A ground-hugging weed with creeping stems grows in moist, shady areas of the lawn. The leaves are oval to round and up to 1 inch long. Yellow flowers, 3/4 inch in diameter, appear from spring to fall. Also called moneywort or creeping Jenny, creeping Charlie invades areas of the lawn where grass won''t grow. It is sometimes planted as a groundcover in shaded, moist rock gardens.
