Reddish brown to black beetles 1/8 to 1/6 inch long with elongated snouts feed in stored whole-grain rice, corn, wheat, and beans. They may be seen crawling around the pantry. They usually damage whole grains but occasionally infest flour and other broken or processed grain products.

Solution Advice

Discard all infested food. Clean out cupboards thoroughly before restocking. Keep foods in airtight glass, plastic, or metal containers. Avoid buying broken packages, which are more likely to be infested.
