Plant Virginia bluebells for a lovely shade of blue
Woodland flowers steal the show in spring when they put on their blooms before the overhead trees leaf out and block the sun. One of the prettiest of the bunch is the Virginia Bluebell. Also called Virginia Cowslip, since its blossom petals resemble the shape of a cow's lip, this woodland favorite can be found in the eastern half of the country. Sometimes in fields, sometimes in sunny patches in forests, Virginia bluebells' powdery blue petals bloom from mid-spring to mid-summer.
