Hooray, it's on its way and should arrive shortly.
In California, they call it the superweed. Once it's in your yard, it can grow an inch a day. You can almost watch it take over your lawn, your garden, even objects lying around. If you have to fight this weed, prepare for the long haul.
Kikuyu can grow 18 inches high if left alone. If you mow it, you're only stimulating it. This weed thrives even when it's cut to only ˝ an inch. Plowing or tilling it under is a big mistake, since the chopped-up stems will only regrow. Also, mowers and tillers spread the weed when they go from yard to yard.
If you have one or two plants of kikuyu, you can get away with pulling them out by hand. You have to be careful, though. Keep checking the area in case a piece of root breaks off and starts growing again.
Your best bet is to apply a control product containing glyphosate, such as Roundup® Weed & Grass Killer. If kikuyugrass is in your lawn, you turf grass will suffer, so you'll have to reseed. Also, expect to apply Roundup® two or three times, since kikuyu won't go down without a fight.
