Prepare the ContainerPut some top-quality potting soil into your container, leaving about six inches of room. Miracle-Gro® Moisture Control® Potting Soil works well. Arrange your plants in your container without taking them out of their nursery pots. It usually helps to put the tall ones in the center and the short and trailing ones along the edge.
Plant Your FlowersNow that you have your look, gently take your flowers out of their pots and put them in your container. Fill in the spaces between them with potting soil.
Feed and WaterOnce your plants are in, water them thoroughly. You can feed and water them at the same time using Miracle-Gro® Liquafeed® Ready-to-use Plant Food. Next, bring some friends over to enjoy your new garden.
Container gardens need deep watering at least once a week, and they thrive on regular feeding. Another way to feed is to sprinkle a time-release product, such as Osmocote® Plus Multipurpose Plant Food. It feeds for up to 6 months. Also, if you pick off the dead blooms, you'll enjoy more blossoms throughout the growing season.
