What does overseeding mean?
Overseeding simply refers to applying grass seed over an existing lawn to help increase turf density. It is also used to help keep southern lawns green year-round during winter dormancy of the permanent turf. Overseeding a lawn that is more than 10 years old is a great way to revitalize the lawn with some of the newest grass varieties that have been developed by professional grass breeders. Not all brands contain improved grass seed varieties however. Scotts seed blends are carefully chosen to have attributes such as improved color, drought resistance, disease resistance, and other positive traits.
