Keep Weeds from Growing Back For Up to 1 Year
There are some places around your home where you don't want anything to grow. Places like gravel driveways, fence lines, rock gardens, underneath decks, and paver patios should be clear of weeds. Fortunately, Ortho® GroundClear® can help. Below are answers to frequently asked questions, which will help you achieve the best results.
1: How Much Should I Use?
Remember that the proper coverage rate for the 1.25 gallon Ready-to-Use product is 75 sq. ft. If you are using concentrate, a quart of concentrate mixed with a gallon of water also covers 75 sq. ft. Do not over- or under-apply.
2. Does Weather Affect It?
If you live in an area with heavy rainfall, you may need to apply the product every 6-8 months.
3. What About Soil Type?
If the soil is sandy in composition, results may vary and you may receive less than 1 year of protection. If the soil in your yard is heavy clay, plant growth may be prevented for more than a year.
4. When Should I Expect Visible Results?
You can expect same-day visible results. Weeds will continue to yellow and wilt within 2-4 days. New weeds are prevented for up to 1 year.
5. How Long Does It Take Before the Treated Area Becomes Water-Fast?
Rain or watering 1 hour after application will not reduce effectiveness.
6. How Long Should People or Pets Stay out of the Area after Application?
People and pets may enter treated areas after spray has dried.
7. Sometimes I See a White Residue Left on Hard Surfaces. What Does That Mean?
The white residue you see is caused by the surfactant in the product, not the active ingredient. This material will wear off in a week or two through normal exposure to the elements. If you want to, you can scrub it off using a stiff brush and mild soap and water, and then hose it off.
8. Can GroundClear® Be Used Where Animals Graze?
This product is not recommended or labeled for use in grazing areas.
