Thatch-prone lawns of Zoysiagrass or St. Augustinegrass should be dethatched now through May.
Stay ahead of those weeds by spot-treating any weeds in your lawn. Don't pull them up - they'll just come back.
For St. Augustinegrass lawns, use Ortho® Weed-B-Gon® Spot Weed Killer for St. Augustine Lawns to safely eliminate weeds. It kills tough weeds, like dollarweed, without harming the grass.
Your lawn may be ready for another feeding. Since now is a great time to control weeds and feed your lawn, consider applying a weed-and-feed product now. Review the Scotts® Annual Lawn Care Program recommendation for your lawn before applying any weed-and-feed product.
Check your lawn for mole crickets, especially for bahia and bermudagrass lawns. If you find mole crickets in your lawn, apply an insecticide product to prevent them from damaging your lawn.
? Clean out any debris that may have collected in your garden during the cooler months. If using a rake to clean off the beds, be careful to not disturb any bulbs you may have planted in the fall.
? Determine what types of amendments need to be added prior to planting. Healthy soil is the key to growing an abundant, healthy garden. Plants need air, water, and nutrients to survive, and the quality of the soil you plant them in matters!
? Begin fighting weeds before they appear in your garden beds. To stop weeds before they start, treat your garden with a pre-emergent weed control.
? Early spring is the time to prune your trees and shrubs (except those that flower in the spring), before growth begins.
? Begin fighting pests in your garden before they invade your plants ? spray plants with Ortho® Bug-B-Gon MAX® Lawn & Garden Insect Killer Ready-to-Spray.
Don't forget to water and feed your houseplants. Check to make sure soil is moist and all indoor plants are receiving an adequate amount of sunlight.
